Jimenez racing Canadian Nationals
NJ rider Bobby Jimenez (Browns Mills) has started his second season racing the CMRC Canadian National Series. This weekend's opening round was held Ste-Julie Quebec. After riding well and setting fast times in Saturday's timed practice Bobby went down hard an injured his shoulder. The Freehold Honda, Troy Lee Designs, Dragon backed rider soldiered on and rode both motos on Sunday. Unfortunately he was in so much pain from his injured shoulder he was unable to score points. To follow Bobby's results this season check back often for updates.
Lawrence 3rd overall at Glen Helen
Yamaha of Troy backed, New Jersey native(Estell Manor)Jason Lawrence used 1-5 moto scores to take home 3rd overall in the opening round of the AMA National Motocross Series at the Glen Helen race track in San Bernadino California. Jason sits tied for second in points with Ryan Villopoto as they go to round 2 at Hangtown California this weekend.

MXP TV catch it!!!!
From NJ resident Matt Wozney:
HG Films’ own Matt Wozney will be conducting a new next day coverage show of the Loretta Lynn Northeast Youth Regional at Pleasure Valley Raceway in Armagh, Pennsylvania, which is this weekend (May 24-25). The show is being presented by Moto Graphx and Vision Motocross and also supported by Cernic’s and Holeshot Graphics (www.holeshotgraphics.com). The show will cover both days of racing. One show will appear on Sunday for Saturday’s race action and another one on Monday for Sunday’s action. Both shows will be filled with plenty of news and results from this weekend’s racing action and some entertaining acts as well! Also, a cool new feature of this special two day show is that HG Films will pick one lucky rider to be named the “Moto Graphx Rider Of The Day”! Make sure you check out the shows at HG Films’ new “MXPTV” page at www.motoxposure.com/tv and support this weekend’s sponsors of the first two shows of 2008 at the new MXPTV by clicking their links above! Happy Mothers Day
Thank you Mom
By Scott Lukaitis
With Mother’s day just around the corner I thought it would be appropriate to send a special thank you out to the Motocross Mom.
Mom-
Thank you for getting up early and taking us to the races.
Thank you for getting us new bikes and not a new car.
Thank you for putting racing before your hobbies.
Thank you for spending Mothers Day at the track.
Thank you for putting up with us in the garage all night working on the bikes.
Thank you for letting our bikes take over the garage.
Thank you for washing our dirty gear.
Thank you for making breakfast at the track, and lunch and dinner too.
Thank you for not worrying about the track in the yard.
Thank you for giving up your Sunday to spend time at the track.
Thank you for supporting us when we do well and especially when we don’t do so well.
Thank you for always being there to help us up when we fall.
Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you for being my mom.
I love you. Happy Mothers Day.

NJOHVA Supports NJ OHV Registration Legislation
Currently there's an effort to create OHV registration for New Jerseys OHV users. NJOHVA supports this legislation as well as many from New Jersey's Environmental community. NJOHVA's position is that OHV legislation is long over due and a comprehensive OHV program that funds rider education, OHV park creation and other OHV riding opportunities is good for all New Jersey residents. If you want to know more about the proposed legislation come to the May 6th NJOHVA meeting at Powersport Honda in Metuchen. For direction and time go to:http://www.njohva.org
NJOHVA Receives OHV grant from MIC and SVIA.
New Jersey Off-Highway Vehicle Association (NJOHVA) recently received a grant from the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) and the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America. The purpose of the grant is to spread the message on responsible OHV recreation and safety. Again we'd like to thank MIC and SVIA for their generosity and the funds will be put to good use.
NJOHVA now has a New Jersey State House presence!
The New Jersey Off-Highway Vehicle Association (NJOHVA) recently started working with a consultant in Trenton that has been helping spread the word about all the positive things that New Jerseys OHV community is doing as well as the benefits of responsible OHV recreation. In just a short period we have accomplished a lot.
New Jersey has a lot going for it and there's plenty of OHV opportunities if you know where to look.
With close to 250,000 OHV users in the Garden State and available land all but disappearing the riding areas we all once took for granted have all been either developed or turned in to preserved nature areas. Well riding opportunities still exist, but you have to know where to look.

New Jersey Motorsports Park nearing completion
Although not motocross....yet...The New Jersey Motorosports Park is nearing completion. The park which is right now a road style facility may eventually feature motocross racing as well.
From a press release issued by New Jersey Motorsports Park:
Millville, NJ - April 30, 2008 – With less than 80 days remaining to the official opening of New Jersey Motorsports Park, dust is flying, buildings are nearing completion and major developments are being finalized. Here’s an update on numerous fronts:
Race Track Paving
Spring brings ideal conditions to complete the paving. The Lightning Road Course is complete, as is the F1 New Jersey Karting complex. Paving is underway on the marquee Thunderbolt Raceway, and is on schedule for mid-May completion. Trackside safety features, such as impact walls and tire barriers, are taking shape.
Building & Facility Update
Several buildings are nearing completion, including the signature Clubhouse, Driving and Karting facility race control buildings, Shadetree garages, Event garages and the trackside medical building. Construction has started on the remaining buildings, including the Chris Economaki Media Tower, Concession Building and VIP suites. The construction is on schedule.
Ticket Sales
April 1 marked a major milestone in NJMP’s development, as tickets for this summer’s spectator events went on sale at http://njmp.com through ComcastTIX. The schedule for the inaugural season of racing at NJMP has added several notable racing series, including the Ferrari Challenge, the Cooper Tires Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda, The Star Mazda Championship, the Speed World Challenge GT Championship, The Playboy MX-5 Cup and the recently formed Volkswagen TDI Challenge. The most current schedule includes:
• Aug 7-10 SVRA Vintage Racing
• Aug 15-17 Shelby American Auto Club (SAAC)
• Aug 29-31 Grand-Am Weekend: Rolex Sports Car Series, KONI Challenge, Moto-ST, Ford Racing Mustang Challenge, Skip Barber Mazda and Ferrari Challenge
• Sep 12-14 Mazda Formula Zoom Zoom: Atlantic Championship, Star Mazda, Spec Miata
• Sep 20-21 Wheels and Warbirds Airshow with SCCA and VRG racing
• Sep 26-28 ARCA RE/MAX, Speed World Challenge GT, Playboy MX-5 Cup, Volkswagen TDI Cup and Formula BMW
NJMP Principal and Development Project Manager Joe Savaro said, “It’s hard to believe we’re so close to the opening of New Jersey Motorsports Park. We’ve got a small army of contractors and pavers working hard to get our facilities ready for opening. As the weather has improved here in South Jersey, it’s been a big help for our construction efforts. Dry weather has enabled us to restart paving, which is critical both for infrastructure as well as for the racing surfaces. Everything from corporate partnerships to the completion of key structures at the facility are taking shape, so we are getting closer to making some exciting partnership announcements.”
